Dear Friend,

What an inspiration it was to be in worship last Sunday for the Christmas Cantata!  Accolades to the Chancel Choir under the direction of Cheryll Moll, narrator Asa Leininger, musicians Bradley Jent, Rosanne Bass, Tijuanna Julian and guest orchestra.

Our celebration of Jesus’ birth continues with candlelight communion, message, and carols this week. Choose one of the many options to be in worship and invite friends and family to join you.

Christmas Offering & Year-End Gifts

Our Christmas offering this year will be directed to Schweitzer’s Jobs for Life, Life Change Plan, The Coach House and other Community Impact Ministries. We rejoice that 70% of the 75 graduates of Jobs for Life are at a better spot vocationally, and that scores of people are being mentored through various outreach ministries. We are helping in practical ways with a hand up through ongoing relationships that is producing true life change.

In addition to our Community Impact Ministries, Schweitzer in 2018 will be making needed capital improvement in resurfacing our gymnasium and our parking lot. Gifts to date for these projects total $30,000. If you would like to give specifically for these needs, please designate Capital Improvements. In addition to cash, you may want to consider gifts of appreciated securities or you may also give directly from your IRA. For more information or assistance, contact Mary Decker, COO, mdecker@sumc.co or 881-6800 ext. 232.

What a blessing it is to be a part of such a dynamic church community.  What a joy it is to share in the Good News of Jesus Christ!

Merry Christmas!

Bob Casady
