The message this week, will help our students to understand what it means to love mercy – to keep it with them at all times and to let it define their reactions.
Next Steps . . .
As you go through this week with your student(s), look for instances to create some dialogue based on the theme of this lesson. Consider discussing the following questions or concepts:
Read: Ephesians 2:4-5; Romans 12:1; Matthew 6:14
Ask: How badly do you need God’s mercy? Why?
Ask: Are you ever tempted to work hard to earn God’s mercy? When?
Ask: Can you think of a time when someone forgave you even though you didn’t deserve it?
Ask: What is one thing that stops you from forgiving people who have wronged you?
Apply It: Think of an obstacle that keeps you from showing mercy to others. What is one way you can overcome that obstacle (or start to) in the next week?
