The message this week, will help our students to understand that He’s the one who enables us to follow through on the commands in Micah 6:8 (Act Justly, Love Mercy, & Walk Humbly) by transforming us from the inside out.
Next Steps . . .
As you go through this week with your student(s), look for instances to create some dialogue based on the theme of this lesson. Consider discussing the following questions or concepts:
Read: Romans 7:18-19; Philippians 2:1-4; Matthew 5:7
Ask: Have you ever felt like your actions and your conversations don’t line up? What can we do when this happens?
Ask: How did Jesus show humility during his ministry? Why should that affect the way we see ourselves and others?
Ask: How did Jesus show mercy to other people? How has he shown mercy to you?
Ask: What is one way you can remember the mercy Jesus showed you when you don’t feel like forgiving someone else?
Apply It: Write down one way you can focus on lining up your heart and your actions this week. Do you need to make a heart change? What about an action change?
