The world our students live in is a noisy and chaotic environment. And yet, this is the environment in which they must fight to shape their identities. Where can they turn for an anchor in the midst of the chaos? Paul’s letter to the Colossians provides the answer: the person of Christ. This series will help our students know that Christ is to be the focus of who they are, the very center of their attention and affection.
Week 2 –
This week we will FOCUS on helping our students understand that the fullness of Christ is sufficient for everything we could ever need.
Next Steps . . .
As you go through this week with your student(s), look for instances to create some dialogue based on the theme of this lesson. Consider discussing the following questions or concepts:
Read: Colossians 2:8-15
Ask: When you think of the word “full” or “filled,” what comes to mind?
Ask: What do you think it might mean that we have been given “fullness in Christ”?
Ask: What do we mean when we say that Christ alone is sufficient?
Discuss: Do you ever struggle with being timid when it comes to living the life Christ has called you to live? What are some of the factors that lead you to feel this way? Where do you think this fear comes from?
