We had a wonderful day of worship last Sunday. If you were not able to be present in worship, I invite you to watch/listen to the message on our podcast Down to Earth: Jesus, Light of the World.
We will light the third candle of Advent this Sunday as we look into the words of John 1: 10-13, Jesus The Savior of the World. Here are some of the many things happening at Schweitzer during the next few weeks:
If you are new to Schweitzer, and have questions about Jesus, the church, or would like to know how to get better connected, join me this Sunday, at 12:00 noon in Memorial Hall. We will feed you great bbq, offer you a tour of the campus and get you headed home by 1:30. Childcare is available. To sign up, contact Pastor Jim, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Handel’s Christmas Messiah: A Cantata
December 18 ● 8:20 & 11:00AM
Join the Chancel Choir and Orchestra in worship as we celebrate the majesty of God and the promise of Christmas through this glorious music!
There are five Christmas Candlelight Communion Services to choose from this year! Traditional Worshipers may choose from 6:00 and 8:00 on Christmas Eve with the early bird worship on Thursday, December 22nd, 7:00pm. The Early Bird Service is a wonderful option for those who will be out of town or prefer to not fight the crowds. The 4:00pm Christmas Eve Worship is designed for children and their families. The 8:00pm Modern Service Christmas Eve is in the Outreach Center. All five services will feature a message, candlelight, and communion with childcare provided. Which worship service will you attend? Who are you inviting to join you?
Servants for Christmas Eve Worship help create a great first impression on Christmas Eve. If you will greet, usher, or serve Communion as part of the First Impressions ministry, email Erinn Johnson, email@example.com.
We will have one worship service Christmas morning, 10:00AM in the Sanctuary. THERE WILL NOT BE ANY SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES FOR ANY AGES AND THE FELLOWSHIP CENTER WILL BE CLOSED. This is a highly simplified Sunday morning to allow staff and servers to enjoy their Christmas morning. I plan to be here that morning preaching from the Gospel of Luke 2:1-20. If you want to come and worship Christmas morning, fantastic! If you are spending time with family, marvelous! You choose!
Thank you for your generosity throughout the year. If you would like for your December giving to be reflected on your 2016 statement, please keep the following dates in mind.
Gift may be placed in the offering through December 25.
The Church office will be open until 5:00 on December 30.
If you wish to mail contributions, they must be postmarked by December 31.
You may give online through December 31.
May God bless your life this day and during this Season of hope, peace, love, and joy. See you in worship.
