Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. While God’s people once sat in ashes or placed ashes over their heads to show their desire to turn from their sin, Christians receive the ash markings of the cross as an outward symbol of an inner resolve to go deeper as a follower of Jesus. Worship Ash Wednesday at Schweitzer, February 14, 6:00-6:40 pm, in the sanctuary.

We touched some very sensitive areas last Sunday in the message Secrets. We recognize there are unhealthy secrets which all types of family systems are tempted to stuff at the expense of all concerned. As we mentioned last Sunday, if you are a person who is being victimized, a perpetrator, a silencer, and or a person in authority, we encourage you to seek help whether it be through a trained counselor, trusted friend, prayer teams or pastoral support. Our pastors and staff are here for you should you wish to speak to us, to listen, to pray, to consult, and when appropriate to help by referring you to professional help.
This week’s message addresses the struggle with authority. You may wish to read Ephesians 5:21-6:9 before coming to worship. See you Sunday.
