Dear Friends,

We begin a new message series this Sunday: Be Part of This.  Throughout the month of November, we’ll be sharing in worship, through video and in social media how God is broadening and deepening this community of faith. As we celebrate Holy Communion this Sunday and remember the saints who have become a part of the church triumphant (8:20 worship), we are seeking fresh encounters with God through Spirit Engaged Worship.

Looking for ways to connect at Schweitzer?  Go to our website sumc.co and/or check out below what’s happening during November:

SMART Ministry

Do you have a servant’s heart to help maintain a safe and secure environment? Join the all new SMART (Safely Monitoring, Aware & Response Team) ministry! Serve ONE Sunday morning per month. Contact Erinn Johnson at ejohnson@sumc.co for more information.

Looking for Other Ways to Give?
Consider a gift of Appreciated Securities

Giving appreciated stock, bonds or mutual funds allows you to maximize your gift to Schweitzer. It can also provide a greater tax savings than a gift of cash. Typically, if you donate stock, bonds, or mutual funds that you have owned for more than one year, you can avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated value, and you may deduct the entire fair market value as a charitable donation. Gifts must be completed by December 31, to be counted toward your 2017 tax return. For more information, contact your tax advisor or Mary Decker at mdecker@sumc.co.

Job Postings

We have several job openings at Schweitzer.  You are encouraged to spread the word among your circles of influence as we are actively looking for a Director of Facilities and Coordinator of Community Impact.  To learn more about these current openings, go to sumc.co/jobs.

I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in worship.
