We got off to a good start last Sunday with a new series of messages, “The Five T’s of Transformation.” As we talked about using our Talents for God, we provided an updated serve brochure, listing 49 different serve opportunities at Schweitzer. We got a great response with numerous people stepping into new ministries roles. To explore these opportunities further, you may contact Jeff Fugitt, firstname.lastname@example.org or go to sumc.co/serve.
I am particularly looking forward to this Sunday’s T of Transformation as we look at building TRUST in relationships. We’ll look at the trusting relationship Jonathan and David had in the Bible and lift up some ways we too can grow in learning to trust others.
Jake Hotchkiss, Schweitzer’s Young Adults Director, has answered the call of God to pursue Ordained Ministry within the United Methodist Church. In our denomination, a candidate must first be approved by their own local church before entering the candidacy process. Jake has met with our Church Board, receiving their unanimous affirmation and now will share his call to ministry at the Church Conference this Sunday, October 30, at 12:12 p.m. The Conference should conclude by 1:00 p.m. Please note that the location of the conference has been moved from the sanctuary to the Outreach Center. All members of the church are invited to attend and vote regarding Jake moving forward toward ordination.
