Dear Schweitzer Friends
Certainly the faithful love of the Lord hasn’t ended; certainly God’s compassion isn’t through!
They are renewed every morning.
Great is your faithfulness.
The Lord is my portion! Therefore, I’ll wait for him.
The Lord is good to those who hope in him, to the person who seeks him.

Lamentations 3.22-25

As we move through the summer, we rejoice that God gives us opportunities to be reminded of His faithfulness, to renew us in the present, and to light the path of hope that we walk into the future. Many settings serve as places for God’s renewing and establishing a hope for the future: a garden, a float down the river, or on top of a house – replacing a roof.
2016 Summer Youth
Tim Smith reports that the Youth mission team is having a renewing and establishing time up on the roof tops in Memphis, Tn. They are displaying “an incredible picture of the Kingdom of God.” Their journey has included some of the summer’s hottest days, yet Tim says, they remain ready for the work that is ahead of them. You can check in on their progress by going to https://www.facebook.com/sumcyouthministry.

Coach House
The Coach House opened this week with two women welcomed into this transitional and hope-filled living arrangement.

Jobs for Life launched a new cohort last Monday with eleven students. Along with the students, this cohort is a learning venue for Life Church 360, who will be launching a JfL site at the old Fairbanks school in Zone 1 of the City of Springfield. We rejoice that God uses these connections and relationships to renew and restore hope.

Places to serve
Opportunities to serve are always coming open. As we look to the fall, Dawn Thompson is looking for adult leaders in the kids ministry. To serve in kids ministry, you need a big heart for God and for kids; you need to enjoy playing, and telling stories; you need to be humble and able to learn from kids. One of the great joys of those who serve in Kids Ministry is to watch and listen as kids express faith in Jesus and grow in that faith with adult companions! To serve, contact Dawn at dthompson@sumc.co.

If you like technical and audio gear, Taylor Likes and Cheryll Moll are looking for audio engineers for Sunday morning. You can learn more about this opportunity by writing to tlikes@sumc.co or cmoll@sumc.co.
James Series 1080p (temp)
This Sunday, we continue in our series James: Faith that Works. We will be in James 4 taking a look at Pride and Humility.

May the Lord, who is faithful and compassionate, whose love is new every morning – may the Lord bless and keep you today.
