God’s Plan.

Read Isaiah 42:1-12.

God’s chosen people, the ancient Israelites, suffered intense persecution. They longed for deliverance from hardship and justice for the marginalized. They cried out for a political leader to bring about peace. God had a superior plan. He promised to send a faithful servant to bring healing, not through power and intimidation, but through gentleness and love. Things haven’t changed a lot, have they? We still desire peace, truth, and justice. God still hears our cries and has a plan to bring hope and healing. As Christians we are part of God’s plan. As bearers of the image of Christ, we have the answer the world needs. Let’s be faithful in sharing God’s message of justice and hope with those who so desperately desire to experience the love and wholeness only God can bring.
