Read Acts 26:1-18.
Before Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus, his life had purpose. He was obsessed with the dead man from Nazareth and excelled at hunting down his followers. That, however, was not the purpose for which he was made. The Light brighter than the noon-day sun alerted him to his terrible mistake. The living Jesus changed the man and became his true purpose.
It is natural to think we know what is best for our lives. “Natural” behavior, however, warped and darkened the day we listened to a snake instead of God. Now we have been given light. We can let go of our own attempts at mastery and take His hand. When we do, we discover our identity, for He has always been the only true purpose.
