Read Acts 16:22-34.
Not discouraged by their arrest and being jailed, Paul and Silas continued to demonstrate hope by singing and praying. About midnight, divine intervention occurred with a severe earthquake which opened the door and loosened the shackles. The jailer had his version of a “Damascus Road” experience. Thinking the prisoners had escaped, he would have committed suicide, but Paul intervened. The jailer and his family believed the gospel and were baptized. Not all Christians go through such dramatic conversions. Some people may have a gradual conversion as they grow in their own faith. Both types receive a calling. What is your calling? Would you describe your calling as a passion? Has it changed as time goes on?
