Why Does God Need My Stuff?

Read Malachi 3:10-12.

God was not hungry. The “food” needed in the Temple was to provide for the priests. Malachi reminds the people to tithe their resources and, before there is time to moan, tells them what will happen when they do. God will open the floodgates of heaven for them!
I just watched several videos of opened floodgates. The endless power of the water is jaw-dropping. God’s bounty is limitless. He is not, nor ever has been in need. He is not dependent upon our gifts, yet giving requires something crucial from us – trust. When we place our well-being in His hands, He pours out His bounty. Our puny gifts are exchanged for overwhelming blessing from Our Father, and we begin to realize that it wasn’t our gifts He was after. It was our hearts.
