Jeff Fugitt is serving as the Director of Connect Ministries. That means he works mostly with the small groups of the church. He has been married to Jamie for 34 years. They joined Schweitzer around Christmas time 2013 and came on staff in June 2014. Jeff and Jamie have two grown children and a son-in-law. Jeff graduated from SBU in Bolivar and then completed seminary in Kansas City. After working in church positions and as a hospice chaplain he went back to school and is working on a PhD through UMKC. He has taught college students part-time for over 20 years and will continue to teach in the Religious Studies department at MSU. What are your favorite hobbies? We love the out-of-doors – hiking, biking, gardening, and the like. I’ve gotten into triathlon lately and really enjoy that. What’s the strangest thing that has happened to you? Probably, the time that I traded in a truck and it was stolen and then used in several bank robberies. The 3 am visit from the FBI was pretty wild. What do you want prayer for? I am excited about what God is doing at SUMC. My prayer is that we do the best job possible in creating environments where people can truly have meaningful relationships and grow in their discipleship.
