What’s Going On
Who We Are
Mostly in our 20’s and 30’s, Schweitzer Young Adults is a community of students, young professionals, singles, couples, and young families who are seeking to know and love God and others in the pursuit of better living. We believe strongly that the best life is a life lived in relationship with God and community, helping one another to become like Jesus Christ.
When We Worship
Every Sunday, we worship the Lord together at Schweitzer’s usual gathering times. But most young adults attend the modern gatherings, rather than traditional. These take place at 9:40 AM in the Sanctuary and 11:00 AM in the Outreach Center.
Deep and authentic Christian community can be hard to find. For those who are interested in developing deep relationships with a select few people, for the common goal of growing in faith and responding obediently to God’s call on their life, we offer assistance in forming small groups. We believe that anyone who is serious about pursuing a relationship with God must also be serious about doing it with others. For a beautiful picture of what Christian community can look like, read and reflect on Acts 2:42-47.
Small groups usually meet weekly for an extended season of life. These weekly gatherings often consist of food, fellowship, study, discussion, prayer and care for one another, and usually take place in a group leader’s home. Outside of these meetings, our hope is that group members experience organic growth in friendship through having fun and serving together, too.
