Look at what’s coming up in August!

More information coming soon!

Getting our hands dirty for the people of Puerto Rico

Interested in going on a Puerto Rico Mission Trip in November or January? Join Phil Grafft, Mission Coordinator and Pastor Bob Casady for an informational meeting this Sunday, August 5, 12:12pm in Memorial Hall. Registration Forms and trip logistics will be provided for mission teams participants going to PR to support the Methodist Church’s recovery efforts from Hurricane Maria.

We talk a lot here about the importance of being in deep Christian community. The Living Room, offers you a chance to try it out without sign-ups or commitments. Each Monday in August, one big group will meet at the church, learn for a half hour, and break into small groups for an hour. Just show up on August 6, 6:30-8:00pm in Memorial Hall. Childcare will be provided. Contact Jake Hotchkiss at jhotchkiss@sumc.co with questions and if childcare is needed.

Worship God in Song!

Want to be more involved in worship? Chancel Choir offers an opportunity to give glory to God through music! The Choir is open to anyone, high school age or older, regardless of musical ability. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights beginning August 15, 6:30-7:45pm, where we prepare music to share in traditional worship services and on special occasions. We welcome you to sing with this dynamic choir! Contact Cheryll Moll, cmoll@sumc.co, with questions or for more information.

Music Groups

Help build community and make disciples

Beginning the week of September 30, we will be doing a 7-week small group study, and we need people who are willing to host a small group in their home. This does not entail leading the group, but simply offering your home once per week throughout the study. Hosting is a great way for you to contribute to our group ministry. Email Jeff Fugitt at jfugitt@sumc.co if you’d like to be host.

Schweitzer’s Food Drive

Schweitzer is reaching out to our community through our crisis food pantry. We are serving about 300 families in our food pantry every month. All food donations go for Schweitzer’s Food Pantry only. Money donations are also appreciated. Please pick up a grocery sack with a list as you leave worship this Sunday and return the items on Sunday morning, August 12, in the foyer or during business hours, Monday-Friday, in the church office. Thank you for your generosity!
