Did you know?

Did you know that our food pantry helps provide food to ten other food pantries and ministries in the area? These include Crosslines, Victory Mission, Harmony House, Safe to Sleep, Freeway Ministries, and several others. Last year, we helped feed 311,000 people. Our pantry has a core team of 32 volunteers who serve each week, and we still need additional volunteers to join the prayer team and/or help the guests shop when they arrive.

The Schweitzer Food Pantry is a crises-only pantry. We help anyone on their first visit, but follow-up visits are crisis only. What is a crisis? We define crisis by something that takes away from their monthly income. Our mission is get to know our guest better, so we can help plug them into a ministry that will give them resources and opportunities to change their life.

If you are interested in serving in the food pantry, email Krista Rosenbaum at krosenbaum@sumc.co.
