We will be celebrating the sacrament of Holy Communion this Sunday!
We will be celebrating the sacrament of Holy Communion in our online and in-person worship services this Sunday! For those of you who are worshiping at home, we encourage you to prepare your own bread and cup ahead of the worship service, so that you can join us at the proper time during our time together.
Our in-person worship services will be offering each worshiper a “fellowship cup”, an individual communion serving that will allow us to celebrate communion from our seats in the worship service, while we continue to remain touchless.
If you live in our area and would like to pick up your own “fellowship cup”, please come by the church office this week Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and we will have your communion fellowship cups ready for you.
We look forward to this special moment as the body of Christ.
Local Summer Mission Trip
Our High School students and adult chaperones were originally supposed to travel to Denver, CO to work with inner-city organzations for our summer mission trip this year. Due to COVID, we have pivoted our trip and now have the opportunity to put our faith into action with a local mission trip here in Springfield and the surrounding areas. Twenty-four adults and students will be assisting widows within our church family as well as in the community around the greater Springfield area. Please be praying for God to work in big ways as our youth ministry follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit to serve His people of Springfield, MO, July 5–10th.
Would YOU be willing to serve?
Schweitzer is looking for people to serve in ministry in the following ways:
- The Schweitzer Food Pantry would like to add volunteers on Tuesday or Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. to assist in organizing our food pantry.
- The Crosslines Volunteer Team serves the first Thursday of each month at the Crosslines warehouse, fulfilling food orders for clients. The hours are 8:45 a.m. –1:45 p.m.
If God is calling you to serve in one of these special ministries, please contact Sheila Pippin at 417-861-0861 or [email protected].
All of us have unique interactions with God, stories of God showing up in our lives. In these 52 Stories, people connected to Schweitzer share how God is present and transforming in their lives. In watching, may you be inspired in Hope, encouraged in Faith, and active in sharing your story of God’s presence in your life.
