Thanking Pastor Bob for his leadership and celebrating his retirement

Schweitzer is grateful for Bob and Susan Casady’s leadership, unwavering commitment to God’s word and their love for our community. Come and celebrate Bob’s retirement!

We will have a short gathering to remember Church at the Center and the lives transformed through this ministry on Sunday, May 26, at 12:15 PM. Please join us outside of Entrance A as we plant a tree and hear stories about how Church @ the Center impacted lives.

Learn how to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger. Be able to ask and give effective forgiveness. Come see what Dialog Bootcamp is all about on June 5, from 6:30-8:00 PM, in the Outreach Center. You can then decide if you will attend each Wednesday, through August 7, and acquire those skills to use at home, work, church, etc.

The time is near where families and people of all ages unite to serve, create and lead an unforgettable, God-filled experience for children at Schweitzer and in the greater Springfield community. Volunteers for Vacation Bible School will help children discover their true worth. We’ll learn that we can find the value of ourselves and others through God’s eyes. We look forward to sharing the message that we’re incredible because we’re God’s creations, loved by Him, saved by Him, and loving others as He loved us!

A gift from Pastor Bob to the Schweitzer congregation

Pastor Bob’s 16 messages just completed from Luke have found their way into the book: “Messages from the Gospel of Luke.” Paintings by Kristin Sims Strong grace its pages with vivid imagery of poignant scenes. Through these messages, we see with fresh eyes God’s concern for the outsider. The invisible become visible and the voiceless are given a voice. We are invited to take part in this transformative work through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Your free copy may be picked up in the church office.

Thanks so much to those who adopted a teacher during Teacher Appreciation Month. Forty-two staff members at Pittman Elementary received special care packages this past week, which were delivered to the school by some of our volunteers. What a blessing for them to receive this extra encouragement to finish off the last two weeks of school!
